The town of Joshimath is 245km from Rishikesh, in the early house of the dawn Nanda devi, Neelkanth, Barmal, Hathi, ghori, and many. At first, a Math was established at jyotirmath and adham at sri badrinath, and later on three more maths and three dham wear organish in the four corners of the country. Atop the cave is the kalpa brisksha, a mulberry tree .that is asaid to be 2400 years old and has developed a girth of the almost 36 metears. If lord Buddha attained enlightenment under Budhi tree at Bodh gaya, Adi Guru Shankaracharya received the same diving message under the kalpabriksha at the jyotrimath. To the extent, joshimath holds an important position in the history of Hindu revivalism.

Jyotirmath, the Adiguru’s seat is visited and venerated by hundreds of pilgrims each day and in the evening the Shakaracharya delivers a holy discourse called pravachan. It is important that pilgrims pay visit to jyotirmath, the first math of the Adiguru who established the shrine of sri Badrinath ji.
